Jon Marchi

Jon Marchi is the Chairman and Co-Founder of the Glacier Venture Fund, which makes equity capital investments in entrepreneurial companies located primarily in Montana and the Northwest, and which is Montana’s only Small Business Investment Company (SBIC). Jon has started and/or invested in a number of companies, including Marchi Angus Ranches and the Development Corporation of Montana. He was responsible for developing the Montana Private Capital Network, Montana’s first angel investor network. Prior to 1985, Jon held several different senior level executive positions at D.A. Davidson & Company.
Jon serves as a Director for many companies and organizations, including LigoCyte Pharmaceuticals, the Bank of Montana, Great Northern Drilling Company, Phillips Environmental Products, Montana Ambassadors, MSU-Billings College of Business, and the Frontier Fund. He previously served as a director of the Montana Community Finance Corporation, the White House Conference on Small Business, and the Securities Industry Association. In 2005, the Governor appointed Jon as Chairman of the Montana Facility Finance Authority because of his experience in tax-exempt financing.
Jon attended Claremont Men’s College and has a BS degree in Business and an MS degree in Finance from the University of Montana, Missoula. In 2004 he received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the UM’s School of Business Administration.
