Ralph Hutcheson is the founder of S2 Corporation, which develops ultra-wideband sensor technology for radar, ladar, and spectral analysis applications. Previously, he was founder and CEO of Scientific Materials Corp., a manufacturing and R&D firm in Bozeman, Montana. Scientific Materials is internationally known for the ultra-high quality crystals that it manufactures for the opto-electronics industry. Its products are used by DoD, NASA, aerospace corporations, defense contractors, universities, and industry.
Ralph has served as Chairman of the Governor’s Task Force on Research and Development and also on the Montana Board of Research and Commercialization Technology. He is currently on the board of directors of the Montana Aerospace Development Association. He is the recipient of many awards, including the national Tibbitts Award for Small Business Innovation Research.
Ralph has a BS in mechanical engineering and was recently awarded an honorary Doctor of Science from Montana State University.
