Dan Swanson is TechLink's licensing leader, responsible for coordinating TechLink's licensing and other partnership activities. He has 20 years of experience forging private-public partnerships and 10 years of experience bringing new technologies to market. Dan brings to each partnership a keen business sense, extensive experience in financial and market analysis, clear communication skills, and a quick grasp of new technology. He has helped the DoD to license technologies ranging from soil probes and medical diagnostic tools to advanced coatings and military hardware. Prior to joining Techlink, Dan provided business direction for commercialization of a new biological pesticide for the sponsors of an international pest management program at MSU. Outside of technology development, Dan has consulted extensively on World Bank projects ranging from firm-level privatization to manufacturing sector development initiatives. Dan has an M.A. in public policy from the University of Michigan.
